Establishing Care is where you share your story in detail. We will discuss:
- Your top health concerns (yes, all of them) in detail
- Your short-term and long-term goals and what you hope to gain out of working together
- Your health journey so far including previous evaluations and treatments explored
- Your values and priorities
- Your lifestyle and environment (home, work, social)
- Your stressors
This appointment is your first opportunity to ultimately teach me all about YOU and your health so that I can become your best ally and transformational guide.
Overview of what happens in this appointment:
- You share your story and get me up to speed on your health history and goals
- I may assign additional health questionnaires and symptom logs to be completed before your next appointment
- I gather your past medical records and lab reports for full review, if applicable
What I learn from this appointment, along with the Evaluation and Assessment (Step 2), becomes the foundational backbone for the development of Your Action Plan, which is presented in Step 3.
Step 2: Evaluation & Assessment
This appointment is the deeper health investigation you’ve been waiting for.
In your unique Evaluation & Assessment strategy appointment, I outline our strategy for revealing the hidden the blocks that are preventing you from feeling your best.
This Evaluation & Assessment strategy can include any or all of the following:
- A customized laboratory testing strategy to determine the underlying cause(s) of your health concerns, including upfront discussion of any lab fees.
- Mental and physical health assessment strategies you can do at home that may help determine the underlying cause(s) of your health concerns
- An in-person physical evaluation including bioresonance testing
This appointment is all about the deeper detective work you've been desperate for that will help you understand why you have the symptoms you have.
Step 3: Your Action Plan
In this appointment, I present your Health Compass, a summary page outlining the physical, lifestyle, and mental barriers blocking you from achieving your health goals. Your Health Compass is yours to keep and serves as a useful motivational tool that can help keep you on track toward achieving your health goals. Using the information in the Health Compass as our guide, we develop Your Action Plan, which consists of digestible, manageable and actionable steps and strategies you can implement right away that will move you closer toward achieving your health goals. Your Action Plan is continually redeveloped as you progress in your health transformation journey.
Action strategies may include any of the following:
- A customized food strategy that takes into account your health needs, preferences, and lifestyle
- Customized movement recommendations
- Customized breath work
- Mental Health Support exercises and action items
- Simple strategies and health hacks to facilitate positive change despite a busy lifestyle or feelings of overwhelm
- Personalized and customized medicines to support your health goals including botanical medicines, prescription medications, and homeopathic remedies
- A customized herbal and nutritional supplementation plan designed to address your health needs and lifestyle
This appointment empowers, informs, prepares, and motivates you to dive into your Action Plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are you currently taking new patients?
Yes, I am!
Q: I need a family doctor in BC. Can you be my family doctor?
Yes, I can! In our current health climate, it can be incredibly challenging to get a new family doctor or find a clinic accepting new patients. As a naturopathic doctor in BC, I can offer:
- new prescription refills + prescription refills
- lab testing
- health consultations for acute and chronic health complaints
I cannot offer:
And it is important to note that while I can offer certain key primary care services, these are not covered by the Medical Services Plan of BC––patients who work with a naturopathic doctor will need to pay for these services themselves or bill them to extended health benefits, if applicable.
- imaging testing (x-rays, CT scans)
- referrals to specialists
- certain medications with potential for addiction or abuse (ie. narcotics, stimulants, testosterone)

Q: I'm not in Kelowna BC. Can you help me?
I can provide naturopathic medical services to anyone looking for a doctor in BC. Individuals outside of BC may be able to work with me, depending on their jurisdiction's regulations. For those people who are unable to work with me 1 on 1, I am developing a variety of digital products designed to improve your health through educational programs and books.
Q: How do virtual appointments work?
Virtual appointments are convenient, save time, and reduce overall cost of treatment when considering your time, travel expenses, childcare, etc. Virtual appointments allow us to:
- Fully discuss your health complaints and health history
- Order blood work and specialized lab test kits just the same as if you were in the office
- Order medications, supplements and customized formulas just the same as if you were in the office
Q: Do I need to download any specific software for my virtual appointment?
A: No! 30 minutes before your appointment start time, you'll receive a link by email.

A: Lots of ways!

- Requisitions for lab tests can be faxed to the Valley Medical Lab or Life Labs location of your choice. Specialty lab kits can be shipped directly to your door.
- Supplements can be picked up from my curb-side self-collect bin or shipped directly to your home.

Q: How should I prepare for my first appointment?
A: There are a few things you should do. Start by completing the intake and consent forms online. Other tasks I recommend:
- have with you all current medications and supplements for me to review.
- obtain copies of any recent or past labs or imaging results. In British Columbia, recent lab results can be accessed by registering for My Care Compass or contacting your doctor's office.
If you have any other questions not answered here, please contact me.
